Today is Grateful Friday. You know that’s what we do around here on Fridays. This weekend is Memorial Day, which is the unofficial start to summer. Summer is only 15 weeks and it goes really, really fast. What are you going to do this summer? Make your plan and make it special because before you know it, I will be standing here and saying, “It’s Labor Day, how was your summer?”
Here’s the quote, “An attitude of gratitude brings great things.” That’s right, have a good attitude and a lot of good things can happen. When you walk around with a great attitude, people are just nicer. There are a lot of people out there full of gratitude.
We have been talking all week about Mental Health Awareness Month. I just want to say that I am grateful that I have gotten on the other side of it. You know, anxiety and depression are two really hard places to be and to live with, but I was able to climb out and you can too. Here’s the goal I’d like for all of us to think about. We all know at least one person who is suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenic. Just don’t let them be alone this holiday weekend.
Call them up, bring them to a BBQ, serve them a hotdog or a hamburger. Just think about one person that is hurting and reach out.

Depression Is
by CORRO-Jel
Depression is a killer, it doesn’t make a sound
Also is invisible, to the brain it’s wound
Brings on aggravation, cause u don’t do what you want
Stagnation and I frustration, feeling down the haunt
Especially troubling the fact, the contrast of feeling good
If only I felt normal, doing anything yes i could
Capable and energetic, ready to up and go
Instead this silent killer, has me oh so slow
If it were something physical, Others could understand
Because they could see it, perhaps this is all planned
Just so I could write this, to share in public with others
Action and accomplishment, this condition smothers
The contrast of me normal, with this present state
Is like day and night, I think this could be fate
